About Us
After nearly 20 years of showing and breeding Labrador Retrievers, a move to the Southern Highlands in 2019 marked a change of breed for our kennel. We had reduced the number of Labradors we owned due to work commitments in the preceding years, which made the transition a little easier.
Dachshunds have been part of my family for a few generations, so it seemed only natural to introduce a Miniature Smooth Dachshund to our household. Nearly 12 months later, another somehow "appeared", and the numbers have continued to grow!
Our Dachshunds share our 27-acre property with two horses and more wild kangaroos than we can count. I exhibit the Dachshunds several times a month, while the rest of their time is spent enjoying country life as much-loved members of our family.
I have worked in the veterinary industry for more than 30 years. I am a member of Dogs NSW (ANKC) and also serve on the committee of the Dachshund Club of NSW.
Embellish is a small, selective kennel and we take breeding very seriously. We carefully plan each litter and select the most suitable male for each bitch, with a focus on producing quality Miniature Smooth Dachshunds with excellent type, soundness, temperament and health.
